Database with nest site locations and breeding performance is submitted to the three county administration boards in the area. This data is used to evaluate e.g. potential locations of wind turbines and to evaluate if nature reserves provide better breeding habitat for ospreys than non-protected areas. Written report not issued annually, intervals 2-3 yrs.

(So far only in the "grey" literature):
- Hedström, T. (2011) Habitat selection in ospreys (Pandion haliaetus) regarding landscape structure at multiple scales. M.Sc. Thesis, Dept. of Zoology, Stockholm University
- Hellström, P. (2013) Monitoring of osprey in central Lake Mälaren 2006-2012. (Unpublished report to the county administrations, but this will hopefully be integrated in officially published monitoring reports during 2013).
- A few non-scientific publications will be published 2013-2014, hopefully also one scientific paper, contact the coordinator for more info).
Lake Mälaren holds a very dense population of ospreys. Very suitable for studies of resource selection (nests, hunting areas). The study area also has rapidly increasing breeding population of white-tailed eagles, and interactions between ospreys and eagles will receive more focus in future studies.
